Two months down in my year of self-love, and boy am I happy that March has arrived. The end of winter is finally in sight. My gym started putting up a sign every Monday morning with a count down until Spring; we started at 74 days. Woof. 74 days sounded like an eternity. Now we are at 19!!! We got this!
With the beginning of a new month comes a new goal. The whole30 and the gratitude journal went great. In fact, I’m still doing both- just not as strictly this time. If I forget to write an entry or if I choose to have a piece of chocolate it’s all good. It’s a lifestyle, and I make the rules. Now on to March.
January –whole 30
February – Gratitude Journal at night
March- Read The Gratitude Diaries by Janice Kaplan
April– 5 minutes of meditation each day
May– Compliment someone different every day
June– Buy a month of yoga at a new studio
July– Tap into creativity (new fitness classes, art, Zumba, kareokee, games, nature, etc)
August– Treat yourself month (bath, nails, compliments, me date, take a nap, massage, Bravo, etc)
September– Smile first thing in the morning and last thing before bed
October– 30 things I love about myself (I turn the big 3-0 this month-gulp)
November-No negative talk November (myself, others, work, etc)
December– Give back (to students, family in need, volunteer, family, husband, etc)
Reading a book may not sound like much of a goal to many; however, with work, grad school, a workout schedule, and lots of cooking, reading rarely happens. This is a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while, so I’m committing to reading and finishing this within the month.
The book has excellent reviews, and I’m excited for this challenge. It’s about time I read a book that isn’t for work or school. This one is for me. Has anyone read it before?
