Spring Fever

Happy Spring! Once we changed times I instantly felt like a weight had been taken off my chest.  It was so nice to see and feel the extra sun, and now my husband can leave the office and still see the daylight.  Although in Chicago, we’re still waiting on those Spring-like temperatures, the sun is definitely helping.

Speaking of a weight on my chest, I’m finally getting over being sick.  Maybe it had something to do with the change of season, but I was down for the count for a couple days.  Typically, when I’m under the weather I still don’t miss a beat; everything still gets done that needs to, I just might be moving a little slower.  But this one got the best of me.  At least I had the chance to watch a little extra Bravo and HGTV.

Now that it’s (mostly) behind me, there’s so much to look forward to this Spring.  My husband and I are headed up to Decorah, IA for a few day adventure. I actually won a lottery for a rare beer, so we’re making a trip out of it.  I know Decorah doesn’t scream Spring Break, but we’re looking forward to it.

The week after that we’re headed to another landmark of a town, Wichita, for a friend’s wedding. Until the summer, those are our only trips, but we have a couple baby showers and parties to look forward to as well. Lots to celebrate this Spring.

Being sick, I feel as though I am rediscovering my love for soups, smoothies, and ice cream.  For some reason, I often reserve those for being sick (except for froyo- I’m always in the mood for that), but they can really hit the spot.  I will definitely be incorporating them into my regular diet more often.

What are you looking forward to this Spring?
