August Goal

Happy Monday friends,

We had a fun weekend in Lexington, Kentucky visiting my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew. When we planned this trip, the end of July felt like so far away; I can’t believe we’re already talking August! It blows my mind.

August typically brings me a lot of anxiety thinking about the upcoming school year. We start in only two weeks, and it’s daunting to think of all the work and stress in front of me.  To help ease back into the school year, this month’s goal is all about self-care. #TreatYoSelf

I’m super excited about this one; who doesn’t love to get a little extra pampering?

January –whole 30

February – Gratitude Journal at night

March– Read The Gratitude Diaries by Janice Kaplan

April- 5 minutes of meditation each day

May– Compliment someone different every day

June– Buy a month of yoga at a new studio

July– Tap into creativity (new fitness classes, art, Zumba, kareokee, games, nature, etc)

August- Treat yourself month (bath, nails, compliments, me date, take a nap, massage, Bravo, etc)

September– Smile first thing in the morning and last thing before bed

October– 30 things I love about myself (I turn the big 3-0 this month-gulp)

November-No negative talk November (myself, others, work, etc)

December– Give back (to students, family in need, volunteer, family, husband, etc)


August is going to be my month to treat myself and not feel guilty about it. I’m going to get my nails done (multiple times), get a massage, take bubble baths, skip cooking and pick up from a favorite restaurant, allow some extra Bravo watching, all the things that make me happy. Who doesn’t love that?
